Nightfall: A Moonlit Exploration

AN EVENING OF ETHEREAL BEAUTY, PERFORMANCE, AND DISCOVERY IN GREEN-WOOD CEMETERY, ONE OF NEW YORK'S MOST STORIED LANDSCAPES

As night falls across historic Green-Wood Cemetery, an unforgettable experience awaits, just inside the iconic Gothic Arches. Guided by the flickering of thousands of candles, visitors will wander along the Cemetery's winding paths and over rolling hills to encounter musicians, moving images, performance artists, and storytellers in unique site-specific performances.

“Nightfall: A Moonlit Exploration” will take place on Friday, October 19, 2018 and Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 8:00 p.m. – 12 midnight against the stunning backdrop of one New York City's most historic and storied landscapes. Each enchanted evening will begin and end with a mainstage event and feature roving performances and artistic vignettes in selected areas. The creative team of Rooftop Films, Unison Media, Morbid Anatomy, and Bindlestiff Family Cirkus have curated the experience.

“For over fifteen years, Green-Wood has engaged audiences with our magnificent landscape, rich history, and inspiring artistic performances,” said Richard J. Moylan, president of Green-Wood. “We are thrilled to continue this tradition in 2018 with Nightfall, which brings together a terrific team of curators and is sure to deliver an unforgettable experience.”
