Outdoor Movie Screenings Return To Prospect Park In July
The summer movie series at Prospect Park returns in July with screenings of flicks like "The Wizard of Oz" and "Space Jam."

PARK SLOPE, NY — A summer series of outdoor film screenings returns to Brooklyn's backyard in July showing flicks like "Space Jam" and "The Wizard of Oz" at Prospect Park.
Borough President Eric Adams partnered with Nitehawk Cinema and the Prospect Park Alliance to bring the movie showings back to the Long Meadow North section of the park this year. Each screening will be kicked off by a live band playing songs related to the flick, organizers said.
The four movies to be screened as part of the series were previously shown at the nearby former Pavilion Theater, which Nitehawk is in the process of turning into a new location set to open this summer, organizers said.

The series kicks off on July 18 with a showing of the classic film "The Wizard of Oz" with the Highline Chamber Ensemble's jazz trio playing standards and songs from the soundtrack, according to the release.
