Park Slope Nears 75-Percent Partial Vaccination Rate: Data
Just under 75 percent of adults in Park Slope's main ZIP code were partially vaccinated against the coronavirus as of Friday, data shows.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Just under three quarters of adults in Park Slope have now gotten at least their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, holding its spot as one of the highest vaccination rates in the borough, new data shows.
The 11215 ZIP code — which covers the majority of the neighborhood as well as parts of Gowanus — had reached a 74.62 percent vaccination rate as of Friday, meaning just under 75 percent of those 18 years and older had gotten at least their first shot, according to city data.
The 11217 ZIP code, which covers a northern slice of Park Slope, was at a 70.54 percent vaccination rate, data shows.

The numbers show that Park Slope continues to have one of the highest vaccination rates in Brooklyn, which overall has a 58-percent partial vaccination rate among adults.

Brooklyn reached the 50-percent mark for full vaccination this week.
The city has also started keeping track of the vaccinate rate in terms of the total population given the fact that New Yorkers as young as 12 years old are now eligible for the vaccine. In terms of all ages, 64.85 percent of residents in 11215 have gotten at least their first dose, data shows.
Brooklyn and the Bronx have both lagged behind the other three boroughs since the start of the city's vaccine distribution as officials struggled to reach neighborhoods hardest-hit by the pandemic.
The picture in all five boroughs remains uneven.
Vaccination rates have consistently soared wealthier and whiter neighborhoods, including Park Slope.
In other neighborhoods — including ZIP codes in Canarsie, Brownsville and Crown Heights — the percent of adults partially vaccinated is as low as 42 percent, data shows.
On Monday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the state and local government will double down on their efforts to reach areas with low vaccination rates, including several Brooklyn ZIP codes that are in among the lowest in the state.
The effort comes as Cuomo aims to lift all remaining coronavirus restrictions when 70 percent of New York's adults have gotten at least their first dose of the vaccine.
