Park Slope's Community Bookstore to Host Teju Cole and James Risen
The writers are just two of the notable guests coming to the store in January.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Readers, rejoice: a host of major authors will be making the rounds at Park Slope's Community Bookstore this January.
On Jan. 12, author Joel Whitney will be discussing his book Finks: How the CIA Tricked the World’s Best Writers with investigative journalist James Risen, who faced possible jail time for refusing to disclose sources related to his reporting. The conversation starts at 7 p.m.
At the end of the month on Jan. 31, Ishion Hutchinson, who won the2013 Whiting Writers Award in poetry, will discuss his new collection of poems, House of Lords and Commons, with Teju Cole, a photographer and author whose works spans mediums (he once used Tweets to tell short stories about drones). The authors will speak starting at 7 p.m.

In between, Community Bookstore will also be bringing in Lisa Servon to discuss her work The Unbanking of America: How the New Middle Class Survives, Sam Allington to talk about his collection of stories, The Great American Songbook, and other writers.
