Passionate About A Cause? Brooklyn Volunteer Fair Connects Community With Non-Profits

The Brooklyn Volunteer Fair will take place Thursday at the Park Slope Armory with representatives from Brooklyn-based non-profits providing information to residents.

If you have passion but just need a little guidance, if you feel compelled to become active in your community or are just looking for a little something more but don't know where to start, you can soon find the solution you seek.

The Brooklyn Volunteer Fair hits the Park Slope Armory this Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and provides a space for residents to interact with local non-profits and find ways to contribute to the neighborhood.

Representatives from more than 100 Brooklyn-based organizations will be available to answer questions, discuss volunteer opportunities and projects, and provide the community with information about their services.

The event welcomes people of all ages, whether it's students looking for community-service credit for class to retired individuals looking to keep active in the borough.

The Armory is located at 361 15th Street in Brooklyn. Interested persons should contact Assembly Member Joan L. Millman’s office at 718-246-4889 or Assembly Member Jim Brennan’s office at 718-788-7221.

The event is free to the public.
