Police Blotter: Burglar Steals Laptop and Camera from Ninth Street Home

The 33-year-old victim told police he left the backdoor open July 5.

The Backdoor Burglar 

A burglar stole over $2,000 in electronics from a Ninth Street home July 5.

The 33-year-old victim told police that he left his house, between Fifth and Sixth avenues, at 1:30 p.m., but left the back door open. When he returned at 9 p.m., he found that someone stole his Sony laptop, Nikon camera and two camera lenses for a total of $2,300.  

Laundry Bag Heist

A quick-handed crook stole a bag of laundry sitting at the front door of a First Street apartment June 28.

The 38-year-old victim told police that his laundry delivery service dropped off his bag of clean clothes at 5 p.m. and left it at his front door, between Seventh and Eighth avenues. At 8 p.m., the victim’s wife realized the bag wasn’t in front of the door when she came home. The thief got away with $1,399 worth of clothes, including underwear, pajamas, socks, legging, shirts and more.
