Police Blotter: Crook Swipes Woman's iPhone Hand on Sixth Avenue

iPhone Interrupted

A crook stole a woman’s cellphone as she was walking down Sixth Avenue on June 18.

The 34-year-old victim told police that she was walking and talking on her iPhone when a crook ran up and snatched it from her hands on the corner of First Street at 7:55 p.m. She has the Find My iPhone app installed, which allows her to track her iPhone’s location from another device. The crook got away with the victim’s cell, which has a cracked screen.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place

A thief snatched a woman’s laptop from her car parked on President Street sometime between June 21 and 22.

The 31-year-old victim told police that she parked her black Chevrolet between Fourth and Fifth avenues at 10:30 p.m. June 21, but left her laptop inside. When she returned to get her car the next day at 8 a.m., she found that someone had smashed her window with a rock and stole her MacBook Pro.
