The first "Pride on Atlantic Avenue" event will correlate with Brooklyn Pride Week in June.

BROOKLYN, NY — A new celebration will join Brooklyn's Pride event this year in Boerum and Cobble Hill.

Organizers announced Tuesday that "Pride on Atlantic Avenue" will join the list of events celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community during Brooklyn Pride Week this June.

The event — put on by the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation and Brooklyn Pride — will run from noon to 5 p.m. on June 13 along the main corridor between Fourth Avenue and the waterfront.

It will include pride-themed decorations, promotions, art exhibits and special food and drink offers, organizers said. Visitors are encouraged to come dressed in creative outfits and post photos using the hashtag #AtlanticAvenuePride for a chance to win prizes and be declared the "Best Pride Ambassador."

The event will follow the Brooklyn Pride 5K Walk/Run, which is slated for that Saturday.
