Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued Friday for NYC

Be prepared for heavy rains to hit between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a ”severe thunderstorm watch” for the entire New York City area, including all of Brooklyn, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9.

Heavy rains could hit anytime within that time window, according to the NWS.

AccuWeather predicts the rain will start coming down around 5:20 p.m.

The good news: Saturday and Sunday are expected to be clear and sunny, with highs around 70 degrees.
