Teen Found Dead in Prospect Park Lake During Search for Unrelated Missing Person: NYPD
Officers with the 78th Precinct found the dead teen on Jan. 1, the NYPD said.

PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN — Police found a 19-year-old young man dead inside Prospect Park Lake on Monday night while they were looking for an unrelated missing person, a department spokesman said Tuesday.
The deceased teen was found by officers with the NYPD's 78th Precinct, which patrols the park, at about 6:50 p.m. on Jan. 2, according to the NYPD. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical responders.
According to the NYPD, there were no signs of trauma on the teen's body. His cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner's Office, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing, police said.

A department spokesman said Tuesday that officers found the teen while they were searching the park for a woman reported missing on Jan. 1 inside the 78th Precinct. That individual is still missing, the spokesman said, though the NYPD had yet to make information about her public as of Tuesday morning.
