These Are The Final Hours for Park Slope's Thistle Hill Tavern
But is a new restaurant in line to take its place?

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Thistle Hill Tavern will close at 11 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, the business announced this week.
The impending closure of the restaurant, located at 441 7th Ave., was first reported in October by DNAinfo, though at that time, a closing date had yet to be set.

According to DNA, chef Dale Talde decided to close both Thistle and Pork Slope, his other area business, to devote his attention to a new restaurant, "Atlantic Social Club," to open at 673 Atlantic Ave.
Spokespeople for Talde said the new venture will include an 80-seat bar and 160-seat dining room, and "will offer Brooklynites an eclectic menu, featuring seasonal pastas, pan-style pizza, and additional favorites from Dale, including General Tso's Chicken Wings."

There will also be "16 flat-screen TV's," making the spot "a destination for sports and game viewing too."
The business is expected to open in the first quarter of 2017, a Talde spokeswoman told Patch, though she couldn't be more specific.
Meanwhile, what is to become of Thistle Hill?
A neighbor passing by the business on Friday who described herself as a regular said a long-time bartender there told her a new restaurant is in the works.
The new lessees, she was also told, like the current aesthetic inside Thistle, and don't plan on a major remodeling. But our anonymous source said she didn't know more than that.
She did, however, take a moment to fondly remember Thistle Hill.
"It's just perfect," she said. "It was just hitting its stride."
