PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A bakery and bar combination coming to Fourth Avenue is hoping to whisk up some new flavors for Park Slope.

Whisk & Whiskey, which is planning a storefront at 259 Fourth Ave., has received unanimous approval from Community Board 6's Permits and Licenses Committee and is slated for its liquor license application to head to the full board next week.

The new business plans to offer a combo of baked goods and bar selections to the neighborhood, with an international twist.

"Whisk & Whiskey is a minority, woman owned bar & bakery celebrating and highlighting Cambodian and Trinidadian culture and flavors, two countries that we find to be underrepresented in Brooklyn and specifically the Park Slope Area," the eatery wrote in its application. "Our mission is to introduce our patrons to new flavor profiles through freshly baked goods and seasonal cocktails."

The treats will include breakfast, lunch and dinner options of the Trinidadian "golden fried dough staple" known as a bake, along with other freshly-baked cookies, cakes, jams and spreads, according to the application.

"With an estimated four hundred thousand Trinidadian natives living in the NYC metro area, the Whisk & Whiskey Team wanted to feature these flavors," they said.

The bar section of Whisk & Whiskey's menu will bring beers, wine and specialty cocktails, including its take on an Old Fashioned and a namesake shareable cocktail served in an antique punch bowl.

On top of the bar and bakery, the business is planning to use the storefront as an event space and, in what it calls its "wow factor," a rooftop micro-farm where it will grow herbs, fruits and have a beehive to make honey to use in its pastries and drinks.

The farm will also include live chickens that patrons can watch on a "Chicken Cam," owners said.

Whisk & Whiskey will face Community Board 6 at their Jan. 13 meeting next week, which is set to start at 6:30 p.m. The final say on their liquor license approval will rest with the State Liquor Authority.
