BROOKLYN, NY — A woman was hit and killed by an SUV pulling out of a Brooklyn car dealership on Thursday, police said, marking at least the sixth fatal crash in the borough since late February.

Carol Langdon, who lived in Borough Park, was walking on the sidewalk in front of the Bay Ridge Volkswagen dealership on Fourth Avenue when she was hit by a 2021 Volkswagen Atlas that was pulling onto Forest Place, police said.

Emergency responders found Langdon with severe head trauma. She was taken to NYU Langone Hospital, but did not survive her injuries, police said.

In a press release, police said the SUV "pulled forward to exit the sidewalk" when it hit Langdon. An NYPD spokesperson did not immediately provide more details when asked if the car was parked on the sidewalk or in the driveway.

The 29-year-old driver of the Volkswagen stayed on the scene after the collision, police said.

There were no arrests as of Thursday evening, according to police.

The crash is at least the sixth fatal collision in the borough since late February.

On Saturday, Angel Aguilar-Duran, a sanitation worker, was killed in a hit-and-run while working in Williamsburg.

A few days earlier, a MTA bus hit a pole in Crown Heights, which then came crashing down on a pedestrian. He later died in the hospital.

Last week, a homeless man who had been in the hospital after being hit crossing Atlantic Avenue died from his injuries. Police are also searching for the car that hit and killed an MTA bus driver on Shepard Avenue in March.

Another fatal crash in Red Hook recently prompted renewed calls for safety improvements to the street. Also in late February, 6-year-old Shimon Fried was hit and killed by a school bus just outside his home in South Williamsburg.
