14th Annual Great South Bay Festival Pushed Once Again To 2022

The popular local event was scheduled to take place this summer after being postponed in 2020.

PATCHOGUE, NY — The popular Great South Bay Music Festival has been postponed once again.

Long Island's largest four-day music and arts festival will now take place in July 2022. The 14th annual festival, which was meant to take place in 2020, was first rescheduled for this summer.

Now, the new dates are July 7 through July 10, 2022 and will once again take place at Shorefront Park in Patchogue.

According to the festival producer Jim Faith, the decision was based on the amount of uncertainty related to coronavirus compliance, cost increases, artist discomfort, and the now shortened lead time to "successfully and safely produce" an event of this size.

"I find it hard to fathom that I must again announce that The Great South Bay Music Festival has been re-scheduled," he said in a statement. "The disappointment that we feel, first losing the 2020 and now the 2021 festival to this pandemic is maddening, but the health and safety of our attendees, artists, fest workers, and community is our top priority. The very last thing we want to do is push forward based on impatience or greed."

The Tedeschi Trucks Band is already expected to perform at the Great South Bay Festival next year after cancelling their own 2021 tour plans and producers are expected to re-confirm most of the other headliners shortly.

All 2020 and 2021 tickets will be honored for the 2022 festival and no further action is necessary. Refunds will also be offered.
