PATCHOGUE, NY — Two local organizations received over $1,200 from the Patchogue Elks as part of the Elks National Gratitude Grant to allow them to continue to help the community. The two $1,250 grants are used to support local, charitable activities such as hosting a community clean-up day, purchasing supplies for a homeless shelter, or organizing a school literacy fair.

The first to receive the grant was Excel Disabled Equestrians, a Farmingville-based therapeutic program that uses horses as therapy for children in need of support from challenges both physically and emotionally.
