Allergy Misery Has Long Islanders Weeping As Pollen Count Spikes

It's a rough week on Long Island if you have seasonal allergies.

You might want to carry some tissues — high pollen counts on Long Island will likely wreak havoc on springtime allergy sufferers through the rest of the work week. "Very high" pollen levels will hit the island Thursday and stick around through Friday, according to The Weather Channel.

Tree pollen is the prime culprit — the island's top allergens for Thursday are birch, maple and ash, according to Pollen.com.
