The Bristal at Mount Sinai resident 86 year-old June Austin, was among those who celebrated the lighting of the Menorah during a socially distanced and masked candle lighting ceremony held at The Bristal at Mount Sinai. The Chanukah celebration dates back more than two millennia to when the ancient Maccabees led a Jewish rebellion to overthrow their Syrian Greek ruler, reestablish their religious freedom and rededicate the desecrated Temple in Jerusalem.
