Meet Penelope! She arrived after being trapped in the woods and picked up by an Animal Control Officer. She arrived positive for Heart-worm and very nervous about her new environment. She adjusted well and is doing great although she will need someone with patience and experience. She has completed her treatment to rid her of any Heart-worm disease, she is currently on monthly prevention. While she has come out of her shell and is ready to shine, she remains a bit guarded with some (new) people. She is a staff and volunteer favorite. Penelope is a happy and energetic girl who loves to be with you when she knows you. She is hoping to find the love of her life and get a second chance at a good future. Penelope just needs a chance to show you how much love she has to share. She has tested well here at the animal shelter with dogs ( she participates in doggie play-dates) and cats, she will do best in an adult household. She is about 60 pounds, estimated to be 4 to 5 years young, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, heart-worm negative, and micro-chipped.
