Drive-In Movie Night Coming To Patchogue
Two classic movies, Space Jam and Goonies, will be premiering during the drive-in movie weekend in Patchogue next weekend.
PATCHOGUE, NY — With drive-in movies making a comeback on Long Island amid the coronavirus pandemic, Patchogue is hopping on the trend. The Patchogue Young Professionals and Plaza Media Arts Center will be hosting a drive-in movie weekend on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6. The event will take place behind the Patchogue Theater of the Performing Arts on 71 E Main Street and will benefit the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce.
On both days there will be a 8:30 p.m. showing of Space Jam and a 10:45 p.m. showing of Goonies. Tickets are $35 per carload. Customers are encouraged to bring their own takeout from one of the local restaurants. The lineup will begin on Oak street a half hour before the showing.
Audio will be streamed to the cars through an FM radio station. Attendees should shut their headlights off ahead of time. Idling is permitted, but everyone is asked to do their best to keep it to a minimum. If you will be idling please make sure you have a full tank of gas. Porta potties will be on site. The rain date will be on June 7. There will be no refunds.
