East Patchogue Man Hid Camera In Landlord's Bathroom: Police

The man was arrested after his landlord found a camera hidden in the bathroom of the home occupied by 2 adults and 4 children, police said.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — An East Patchogue man was arrested on Saturday morning for taking videos of his landlord's family by placing a camera in a bathroom of their home without permission, according to Suffolk police.

The owner of a home on Case Avenue reported to police on Thursday that she had found a mini video camera in the bathroom of the home.

After an investigation, 37-year-old Cristian Marca, a tenant in the house, was arrested for placing the camera and was found to have video and private images of the residents of the house, police said.

In addition to Marca, there were two adults and four children living in the home at the time, police said.

Marca was charged with two counts of second-degree unlawful surveillance. He was held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday.
