Hometown Bake Shop To Open Patchogue Location This Month
The Centerport bakery will be expanding into Patchogue soon.

When Danna Abrams wanted to expand Hometown Bake Shop, she was looking for a place with a "strong community" around it, she said.
The bakery has its shop in Centerport and participates in six farmers markets each summer. But, she said, they've never done anything on the South Shore.
To fill the South Shore void, Abrams is opening another location in Patchogue later this month at 16 Havens Ave.

"When we were looking to expand, we were looking for a place that had a strong community around it and people who love and respect a good meal," she said. "Patchogue has all those things and it really was a perfect fit for us."
Known for its delicious mix of bakery favorites like muffins, scones and sandwiches, Abrams said they have a few special things planned for the new location.

"It will be very similar menu to our Centerport location, but with a few surprises," she said. "We are adding more brunch options, bread sold by loaf and more lunch options exclusively at Patchogue. As always, everything is made from scratch."
The Patchogue location will also have late night hours from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Abrams is no stranger to bringing food to a new Long Island community. Having grown up in Huntington, she got her start at the The Cold Spring Harbor Beach Club and has worked at the famous Momofuko Milk Bar in Manhattan.
When she returned to Long Island, she helped open Kerber's Farm in Huntington.
"Food has always been my passion," Abrams said. "I was raised with two amazing grandmas, one Italian and one Jewish. They always made the most amazing meals from scratch and they have inspired me in my creations."
Until the new shop opens later this month, Hometown Bake Shop will be at the Sunday morning farmers market in Patchogue and will also be at the Aug. 8 Alive After Five.
"We have some fun things in store and we can't wait to show everyone," Abrams said.
