It will be scorching hot on Monday on Long Island. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the region that will be in effect from noon until 8 p.m. for Nassau County and western Suffolk County.

The latest forecast has "cooled off" a couple degrees, but temperatures are still expected to be near 90 degrees. Factor in the humidity and it will feel like over 100 degrees at times Monday.

There will be chance of thunderstorms throughout the day, with the greatest risk of storms during the evening commute from 4-7 p.m.
