It's a Girl! Police Officers Help Deliver Baby In East Patchogue

The two officers helped with the delivery in a car on the side of the road Wednesday morning.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — It's a girl! Two Suffolk County police officers delivered a baby in a car on the side of the road in East Patchogue Wednesday morning.

Officers Danielle Congedo and Daniel Rosado responded to a 911 call reporting a woman in labor in a car in front of 166 Hospital Road at 7:20 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found the 27-year-old East Patchogue woman in labor in the front passenger seat of the car. Congedo, with help from Officer Rosado, then delivered a baby girl.

The mother and her daughter were transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in good condition.
