James Joyce Pub Celebrates Grand Opening In Patchogue

Have you been to the new restaurant yet?

PATCHOGUE, NY - From Levin Management Corporation: Restaurant James Joyce Pub is now open for business at 35-71 South Ocean Avenue, bringing an exciting new element to Patchogue’s burgeoning dining scene. Levin Management Corporation (LMC) of North Plainfield, N.J., is the leasing and managing agent for the 23,000-square-foot retail property.

Downtown Patchogue is in the midst of a $100 million revitalization, and 35-71 South Ocean Ave. occupies a prime location in the heart of the redevelopment area, just minutes from the New Village multi-family development on Main Street. “Patchogue is enjoying a new energy as it transforms into a hub for dining, arts and entertainment,” said E.J. Moawad, LMC’s leasing representative for the property. “With its unique, stylish interior and old-world charm, James Joyce Pub has an undeniable ‘cool factor.’ The restaurant is a perfect fit for this neighborhood, and we expect it will enjoy tremendous success at this location.”

The 4,200 square-foot restaurant, open 365 days a year for lunch and dinner, offers an expansive menu of continental American food along with classic Irish fare. Its name and theme pay homage to famed Irish author James Joyce, according to Lorcan Phelan, who co-owns the restaurant with business partners Colm Ashe and John Murphy. The experienced trio of restaurateurs has owned the Irish Times Pub in nearby Holbrook for the last 17 years.

“In Irish culture, a traditional Irish pub is a meeting house for everyone in the community, and that’s the kind of environment we wanted to create at James Joyce Pub,” said Phelan. “We are excited to share with patrons many of our traditional Irish recipes. There is something here for everyone. Whether patrons visit us for a meal with their families, dinner with colleagues or to watch a sporting event at our spacious bar with friends, the atmosphere we have created makes everyone feel comfortable and welcome.”

James Joyce Pub has two upstairs mezzanine areas used as restaurant space and to accommodate on-site special events ranging from baby and bridal showers to birthday parties, business functions and community events. The restaurant offers patrons approximately 20 different draft beers. “We want to be good neighbors, and we look forward to getting to know our customers and becoming an integral part of the local Patchogue community,” added Phelan.
