PATCHOGUE, NY - A popular Patchogue bar announced on Facebook it will be closing temporarily and moving in a "different direction" to start off the new decade. Public House 49, located on 49 E Main Street posted a message last Friday stating that after 10 years in business, it will be undergoing some changes.

"This has been an amazing part of our lives and we want to thank each and every one of you that shared it with us, we will never be able to fully express how lucky we felt to have you into our place," the message reads. "We also want to thank our amazing staff, it was you that gave Public House 49 it’s personality and heart."

The message didn't specify exactly what changes will come to the local hotspot. The gastropub remained opened over the weekend and invited residents to celebrate what they have built, but has closed temporarily starting this week. The post states that the business will reopen in a "couple of months." For those who still have Public House 49 gift cards, they will be honored and transferable once the business reopens.
