Long Island Community Hospital Temporarily Changes Visitor Policy
The hospital has updated its visitor policy on Tuesday in response to the coronavirus outbreak across Long Island.

PATCHOGUE, NY — Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue has updated its visitor policy on Tuesday in response to the coronavirus outbreak across Long Island. While no confirmed cases have been reported in the Patchogue area, the numbers in Suffolk County climbed to 97 cases.
"LI Community Hospital cares about our community and our employees. Please follow our new temporary guidelines for visiting the hospital," a message from the hospital reads. "We understand you care about your loved ones and we will do our best to keep the lines of communication open."
For the time being, the hospital can no longer allow visitors in the hospital. For Emergency Department patients, one visitor is allowed per patient, age 17 and older, in the waiting room only. Ambulatory surgery patients can have one visitor, age 17 and older, to be called in at time of discharge.
