A Love Letter To Sean
"I know this letter will never make its way to heaven, but I truly know he feels the same way I do."

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Emilee Kiechlin’s love letter to her late boyfriend, Sean:
"Dear Sean,
With Valentine's Day approaching quickly, I would have never expected to spend one feeling the way I do. There are so many different types of love stories in the world, some of which most people would love to have, but I don't think anyone's love story can compare to ours.

Do you remember all of those 'When did you guys become friends?' and 'Since when do you guys hang out?' questions that we used to get? Sometimes I wonder why and how we became so close so quickly. And there was only one answer: to fall in love. Every moment we spent together exemplified that. You and I were supposed to be together forever, and I promised you that. I am beyond thankful to have been able to share my love with such a beautiful soul, but now your soul is one thing I am living for.
From the moment I met you I knew you’d be my hero, my reason to smile and my person. You completely stole my heart and made me feel as if I was living in a fairytale. You have taught me what life is all about and more, and you showed me what it’s like to love, to be loved and beyond. Because of you I learned to cherish every memory, love every moment and embrace every possibility.

In just seven months I found a new side of myself, and I’m so thankful I was able to share that with you. I will never understand why you had to be taken from me so soon. And for some reason I don't understand why I have to go about life without you by my side. I'm so happy I got the privilege to know a boy like you and love someone like you. I must say I have to be the luckiest girl in the world to have found a boy as amazing as you to love and to do life with, even if it were for a short amount of time.
No one can compare to you, Sean. No matter what life threw at you, you took it like it was a piece of cake and your strength is what amazes me and so many people. I didn’t know what bravery was until I saw it in you. Thank you for giving me the most amazing memories a girl could ever wish and hope for -- good morning texts, random 'I love yous,' a trip to Turks and Caicos, crazy jet ski rides, dates to the movies, or food, or ice cream, randomly calling me beautiful and giving me a new way to look at life. Your smile is contagious and your laugh and jokes are just another beautiful side of you, and that is why I continuously am smiling.
I promised if I couldn’t find a cure, I’d fix you with my love, and I’m so happy I was able to do that. Although it didn’t turn out exactly how we wanted it to, always know that there will never be a day I stop loving you. I wish I was able to spend every day of the rest of my life with you, laugh with you, stuff our faces and cuddle, just like we used to, but I’m so thankful for the times we’ve had together and the amazing memories we have shared.
I can’t wait to tell my kids one day about how lucky I was to have had something that made saying goodbye so hard. I also can’t wait to show them the pictures we have, tell them about the moments I will never forget and just talk endlessly about you. Thank you for being the best boyfriend a girl could ever ask for. I hope heaven is treating you well, and that you are happy up there.
Wherever I go and whatever I do, my heart will always be with you. I miss you more every day, but most importantly, I miss the me I was with you. I'll see you again someday, and I am so looking forward to running into your arms for the biggest and longest hug and kiss ever. Thank you for everything, from the bottom of my heart. I love you with every ounce of my being. I know you are my angel waiting for me in heaven. May you rest peacefully, my Sunflower. Happy Valentine's Day!"
