Medford Man Escapes Highway Collision Without Injury

Written by Judy Mottl.

A Medford resident passenger in a two-crash on Sunrise Highway in West Islip Friday night escaped unscathed from the collison, according to police.

West Babylon resident Steven Sarvis, 27, was driving alone in a Toyota Scion eastbound when police say he rear-ended a Honda CRV driven by a female Holbrook resident. The Honda overturned and Sarvis lost control of his vehicle, hit a guardrail, and also overturned.

Sarvis was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip for a non-life-threatening injury to his knee and is charged with DWI, according to police.

The female Honda driver and the male Medford resident in her car suffered no injuries and refused rescue. Police did not release the identify of the Honda driver or her passenger.
