Munchies, Late Night Dessert Shop, Coming To Patchogue Village
The dessert spot will stay open until 3 a.m., serving ice cream, cookies and other treats to a late night crowd.

PATCHOGUE, NY —Patchogue Village bar-goers and diners will have a spot to find sweet treats late into the night soon. Munchies will be open from afternoon until as late 3 a.m, once coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
Savannah Schwack is a Manorville resident who's worked in the bar industry and had the idea for a dessert eatery that would stay open late, and knew downtown Patchogue was the best location for the concept, she told Patch.
Schwack grew up baking with her parents—her dad went to culinary school—and while working at Patchogue's Dublin Deck, she said she was inspired seeing how others have started their own businesses and wanted to do the same.

"Patchogue has nothing like this. I knew this is the place it would succeed," she said.
Munchies is taking over former Platinum Day Spa at 50 West Main St. Schwack plans to serve six-ounce cookie sandwiches, homemade ice cream and milkshakes, brownies, donuts, ice cream tacos with bubble cones, and have a help-yourself candy wall.

She plans to be open from noon until late night, as the health restrictions allow. Munchies will also serve iced and hot coffee.
The pandemic has made Schwack's opening take a bit longer but she says Patchogue Village has been supportive: "They know it will be a big hit."
Schwack is aiming for an April opening.
