Patchogue Theater Hosts Outdoor Show During Sundays On The Street
A seated audience enjoyed music by Cassandra House in "a pandemic performance" as part of a new "Music under the Marquee" series.

PATCHOGUE, NY —Although indoor concerts and theater have not yet returned to Long Island since coronavirus hit, the Patchogue Theater for the Performing Arts found a way to bring a live musical performance to Patchogue.
The event, called "Music under the Marquee," featured Long Island singer-songwriter Cassandra House who performed outdoors. Patrons had to purchase a table of four seats and remain seated to adhere to social distancing guidelines. The Sunday afternoon show coincided with Patchogue Village's Sundays on the Street, a weekly street closure event that brings diners and others to the village.
Theater director Michele Rizzo-Berg said that the return of a live musical performance brought some normalcy back to life.

"In a world full of weird, we felt a bit normal. This pandemic performance was a success."
The show sold out, and Rizzo-Berg told Patch that the theater is hoping to continue to host more outdoor performances in the coming weeks.
