Patchogue Village Election Re-Scheduled Once Again
The election has been pushed back for a second time, officials announced over the weekend.
PATCHOGUE VILLAGE, NY — The village of Patchogue elections has been pushed back once again, as per the governor's orders this past weekend. On Saturday, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that all elections, including the presidential primary, will be postponed until June 23.
The village election was first rescheduled from March 18 to April 28. Now as officials are re-evaluating and extending federal guidelines for social distancing, which as of now would remain in place until April 30, other events are being pushed back as well.
In the Patchogue election, incumbent mayor Paul Pontieri is running unopposed for what would be a fifth term. Three village trustee seats are open, with the three incumbents running for re-election along with one new candidate.
