Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In East Patchogue: Police
The 77-year-old man was walking with his bicycle when he was hit by a car Friday evening.
EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car while walking with his bicycle in East Patchogue Friday evening, according to Suffolk police.
A 28-year-old Patchogue woman was driving a 2004 Nissan westbound on Montauk Highway, near Scherger Avenue, when her car struck 77-year-old Arturo Peralta, of East Patchogue, at 4:25 p.m., police said.
Peralta was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said. The driver was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
