Pedestrian Killed In East Patchogue Hit-And-Run Crash

The man was on the entrance ramp to eastbound Sunrise Highway when he was fatally struck by a car that left the scene, police said.

EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run in East Patchogue Thursday morning, according to Suffolk police.

A man was on the entrance ramp to eastbound Sunrise Highway, east of Hospital Road, at 6 a.m. when he was struck by a car that fled, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The man's identification is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

No arrests have been made.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
