St. Joseph's College's Duda Named ECAC Metro Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week

The sophomore tallied a goal and an assist in a 2-2 draw at Mt. St. Vincent on Saturday

Danbury, CT| The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association (ECAC) released its men's soccer weekly award winners on Tuesday afternoon, and amongst the honored was sophomore Damian Duda who was named Metro Region Rookie of the Week.

Duda recorded a goal and an assist in the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's soccer team's 2-2 draw at the College of Mount St. Vincent on Saturday afternoon. After falling behind 1-0 in this first half, Duda assisted on Ryneri Ruiz's tally in the 31st minute to knot the score up at one. In the 81st minute, Duda's headed goal—the first tally of his career—tied the score up again (2-2) and ensured the Golden Eagles earned a road draw.

The forward's selection came a day after he was named Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Duda recorded his second tally of the season on Tuesday evening in the men's soccer team's 2-1 overtime victory over SUNY Old Westbury at home.
