Suffolk Police Receive Donation Of 2 Bicycles For Downtown Patrol

The bicycles were recently donated by the Suffolk County Alliance of Chambers to use for patroling downtown areas across Suffolk.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Suffolk police recently received a donation of two new bicycles to be used to patrol downtown areas across the county. The Suffolk County Alliance of Chambers (SCAC) provided the donations during a special ceremony in Patchogue last week.

The event was attended by SCAC co-chair Gina Coletti along with police Commissioner Geraldine Hart, First Deputy Commissioner James Skope and Lt. Paul Bowden. David Kennedy, Executive Director of the Patchogue Chamber of Commerce acted as the master of ceremonies.

In addition, local officials such as Presiding Officer Rob Calarco, Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri, Senator-elect Alexis Wiek and Village Public Safety Director Jim Berbenich were also in attendance.

According to police. the bicycles that were donated will be use to patrol and "build relationships" in the downtown and high-foot trafficked areas, such as downtown Patchogue.
