Sundown Festival To Replace Alive After Five In Patchogue In 2021
Alive After Five will return in 2022, but in the meantime, organizers are seeking some family-friendly vendors.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A family-friendly event dubbed the “Sundown Festival” is replacing Main Street Patchogue’s popular Alive After Five series which has been put off until 2022, according to an email Thursday to Patchogue Chamber of Commerce members.
Organizers of the event, the Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce and the Young Professionals of Patchogue, are planning to host the festival, which will feature live entertainment and family-oriented activities on three Thursdays between July 22 and Aug. 19, with a rain date of Aug. 26 if needed.
The events will run from 5 to 9:30 p.m.

Vendors are currently being sought to present along the street fair’s route for the event series, but it is still considered tentative as organizers seek the final approvals from the Village of Patchogue, Suffolk County, and New York State.
The Patchogue Arts Council Ratgrrl’s Vendor Circus will be taking over a section of Main Street with “curated vendors, live painting, and family-friendly experiences,” according to its website.

Sundown Festival organizers are confident that they will obtain the required event approvals, announced David Kennedy, the chamber’s executive director, in the email.
“As we move through the approval process, we want to gather information from those interested to have space at this event,” he wrote.
Interested vendors are not expected to make any payments until the approvals are obtained and the chamber can guarantee the spots, Kennedy said.
Kennedy did make note that any chamber member business’ fronting on Main Street, South Ocean Avenue, Railroad Avenue, or Havens Avenue will have first right to use the street space in front of the business.
A change that he also notes is that restaurants will only be allowed outdoor table service dining or a food booth. Pricing for setting up outdoor dining has not been finalized, but Kennedy urged restaurants to apply for space and pricing will be discussed.
“We look forward to [seeing] you out on Main Street, Patchogue for our Sundown Festival,” he wrote.
