134 Westlake Students Named AP Scholars

WESTLAKE, OH — Westlake High School has 134 AP Scholars this year, the district announced. The designation recognizes exceptional student achievement on college-level Advanced Placement exams.

Students take AP exams in May, after completing their college-level courses at their high schools. Different designations are awarded according to performances in the course and on the end-of-year tests.

Most colleges and universities award credit for strong performances on AP exams. Westlake High offers AP classes in the following subjects: studio art, computer science principles, English literature and composition, English language and composition, calculus AB/BC, statistics, biology, chemistry, environmental science, physics, world history, American history, American government, European history, art history, and French, German, Latin and Spanish languages.

Westlake High had 19 students that qualified for the National AP Scholar Award, which required them to earn scores of 4 or better on five (or more) AP exams. Those students are:
