Gunshot Fired At Hotel In Westlake, No One Hurt

An argument between two people escalated until someone pulled out a gun and fired at a car.

WESTLAKE, OH — A gunshot was fired at a car as it left the Red Roof Inn on Saturday, Westlake police announced.

At 11:11 a.m., police were called to the Clemens Road hotel after 911 callers reported hearing a gunshot. Officers arrived in less than 2 minutes, but the shooter was already gone.

Interviews with witnesses and evidence found in the hotel parking lot revealed a man and woman had been in an argument, which culminated in the man firing one shot at the woman as she drove out of the parking lot.

No one appears to have been hurt during the shooting, police said.

Both the man and woman were gone by the time police arrived, but both people were identified by officers.

The woman was found safe at her Old Brooklyn home. A warrant has been issued for the man, accusing him of felonious assault.
