Children's Poetry Contest at Westlake Rain and Garden Show
Write a poem about "going green" and submit it by March 22 for a chance to win Sky Zone passes.

WESTLAKE, OH - Children in fourth grade through eighth grade are invited to participate in a poetry competition at the Fifth Annual Rain & Garden Show hosted by the City of Westlake and the Westlake Watershed Group.
Winners of the contest will receive Sky Zone passes. First place winners will get four passes for two hours of jump time, an extra large one-topping pizza and a pitcher of soda, according to the event description. Second place winners will receive one pass for one hour of jump time and third place winner will receive one pass for half-an-hour of jump time.
Interested students should read the information on the registration form and create an original poem about “Going Green.”

The poem “should be free verse and have no more than 30 lines. In order for your poem to qualify the content of the poem must not be vulgar or offensive, does not employ profanity, and is your original, individual work," the announcement said.
All poems must be submitted to Westlake City Hall Department of Engineering by Tuesday, March 22. The Rain & Garden Show will take place on Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..
