Christmas In Westlake: What's Open, Closed, Trash Collection

WESTLAKE, OH — With Christmas and New Year's Day both landing on Tuesdays, Westlake residents will have a slight delay in their trash collection. City hall will also be closed for the holidays.

Besides Westlake City Hall, the Westlake Recreation Center will also be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. On Christmas Eve, the facility will be open from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. On New Year's Eve, the building will be open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Westlake uses Rumpke for trash collection, and Rumpke will be closed on Dec. 25. That will delay collection one-day for Tuesday through Friday routes, the city announced.

The Westlake Porter Public Library will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The library will close at 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve and will remain closed on New Year's Day.

The Westlake City Schools will go on winter break on Dec. 21. Classes will resume Jan. 7.
