City Of Westlake: ODH Expands Vaccine Eligibility To People Ages 40 And Older And Those With Certain Conditions

Beginning Friday, March 19, Ohioans ages 40 and older and those with certain underlying conditions will be eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine under the terms of Phase 2C and Phase 1E of Ohio's vaccination program. Governor Mike DeWine also announced that, starting March 29, all Ohioans 16 and older will be eligible to receive a vaccine.Â

The underlying conditions included in Phase 1E are as follows:Â
- Cancer.
- Chronic kidney disease (CKD).
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Heart disease.
- Obesity.

NOTE: Individuals made eligible for a vaccine during previous phases of the state's vaccination program are still eligible to receive the shot. All eligible individuals can receive a vaccine from the provider of their choice. Individuals may be asked to confirm during the registration or screening process that they are eligible to receive the vaccine based on a qualifying medical condition.
