Driver Passes Out At Westlake Intersection: Police
The driver fell asleep at a Columbia Road intersection, police said. He was charged with intoxicated driving.
WESTLAKE, OH — An intoxicated driver passed out behind the wheel of their pickup truck in Westlake on Wednesday, Westlake police announced.
Police were sent to the intersection of Columbia and Sperry Drive at 6:30 p.m. after callers said they saw a driver passed out behind the wheel of their truck. When officers arrived, the driver was still asleep and his truck was in drive.
Officers roused the driver — a 44-year-old North Olmsted man — and gave him a field sobriety test. He was then arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle intoxicated.

The pickup truck was impounded after the 44-year-old refused a breath test.
The 44-year-old has been cited for operating a vehicle impaired and refusing a chemical test. He had a previous conviction for operating a car impaired, police said.
