Here's Why I-90 In Westlake Was Down To 1 Lane

Police said approximately 25 cars were damaged, prompting several lanes to be shut down Thursday.

WESTLAKE, OH — A load of rebar was spilled on I-90 in Westlake on Thursday, police revealed.

At 11 a.m., 911 callers reported several broken down cars lining the westbound lanes of I-90 between Cahoon and Crocker roads. Approximately 25 cars had hit debris scattered across the highway, police said.

The debris was a load of rebar being ferried by a truck, police said. Officers documented damage to car tires, fenders and gas tanks. Two cars had to be towed from the scene and I-90 was limited to one lane for 90 minutes while the debris was cleaned and vehicles were moved.
