The first major snowstorm of the season dropped a lot of snow on Northeast Ohio.

WESTLAKE, OH — There were nearly 13 inches of snow on the ground in parts of Westlake on Tuesday morning.

The first major snowstorm of the season dropped a lot of snow on Northeast Ohio, the National Weather Service confirmed. The storm began Monday evening and continued through all of Tuesday and into Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, the National Weather Service tabulated unofficial counts of how much snow was dropped in individual counties and cities in Northeast Ohio.

One city in Geauga County got nearly 2 feet of snow throughout the duration of the storm.

In Cuyahoga County, the eastern suburbs, which touch the tip of the snow belt, were hit harder than other parts of the county. Lyndhurst received 22 inches of snow, News 5 noted, while Chagrin Falls and Shaker Heights accumulated nearly 20 inches of snow.

Luckily for Northeast Ohioans, current forecasts show slightly warmer temperatures and clear skies for the rest of the week. There is a slight chance of rain and snow on Friday, though any precipitation should stop before Saturday.
