Lee Burneson Wrestling Team Wins Conference Title
The middle school squad claimed victory in the Southwestern Conference over the weekend.

WESTLAKE, OH — The Lee Burneson Middle School wrestling team won the Southwestern Conference title over the weekend. The competition had been delayed due to winter weather.
Several Westlake Demons claimed individual accolades on the way to winning the team championship. Brad Cerankosky had a come-from-behind win in the finals, beating a Berea-Midpark student in the finals for their weight class. Brogan Hartup then had another come-from-behind win.
At 116-pounds, Matthew Durbin moved to 30-1 on the season after he pinned his opponent less than 3 minutes into their match. Jibby Assad became the fourth Demon champion when his opponent from Avon Lake was injured and had to default.

Christian Rogers finished second in his weight class, losing a tough decision to an Avon athlete. Arrington Taylor finished 4th at 142 pounds, Noah Khatib took 3rd at 150, and Robbie Huber was second at 160-pounds. Mustafa Woodi had a fourth place finish in his weight class.
