Loaded Gun, Weed Found In Car Stopped In Westlake: Police

The driver also had an open container of alcohol in his car, police said.

WESTLAKE, OH — A loaded handgun, cannabis and an open container of alcohol were found inside a stopped car in Westlake.

On Thursday, at 12:30 a.m., police stopped a car on Crocker and Detroit roads. The driver was a 27-year-old from Tennessee. He had a handgun next to him in the car, police said.

The driver agreed to keep his hands still and in view. Officers checked the gun and found it was loaded. The gun was confiscated and the man was taken into custody, police said.

Officers then searched the man's car and found both edible and plant material cannabis. There was also an open container of alcohol in the car.

The driver has been charged with possession of marijuana, open container and felony improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, police said.
