Memorial Day 2017 In Westlake: Parade Route Set

WESTLAKE, OH — The annual Westlake Memorial Day parade will start at 10 a.m. on Monday. The parade departs from Saints Peter & George Coptic Orthodox Church and proceeds to Clague Park. A ceremony honoring those who have given their lives in service of the country will follow the parade.

The Evergreen and Maple Ridge Cemeteries will also have flags marking the graves of veterans over the weekend. American Legion Post #385 will hold a wreath placing ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery.

Rubbish and recycling that is collected on Monday will be delayed by one day, the city says. Additionally, Rumpke and the City of Westlake will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday.

Additionally, there will be Catholic services held at cemeteries throughout Cuyahoga, Summit, and Lorain County. The list of cemeteries with Memorial Day services is below.
