Memorial Day Parade Returns May 31 In Westlake
After last year's parade was canceled, this year's event will return with some COVID-19 restrictions.
WESTLAKE, OH — The Westlake Memorial Day Parade will make its return May 31, the city announced.
Like so many other events, last year's parade was canceled due to COVID-19. As vaccination against the virus continues statewide, this year's parade will make its return.
The May 31 parade will start at 10 a.m. at St. Peter and George Orthodox Church, 25800 Hilliard Boulevard. The parade will move down Hilliard and end at Clague Park. A small ceremony at the park gazebo will follow the parade.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no candy or flags will be handed out this year. The city also asks that spectators stay off the grass median.
"People are welcome to watch from the south curb side and north street side of Hilliard. This will help with spacing requirements," the city said in a statement.
