New Girls Soccer Coach Picked For Westlake High
The Board of Education still needs to approve the hire.

WESTLAKE, OH — Dane Rimko, a Westlake High alum, has been recommended for the job of head girls soccer coach. He was an assistant coach for the team last year. The Board of Education will need to approve Rimko's hiring.
Longtime girls soccer coach Scott Jones retired at the end of last season. He has served as head coach for 16 years and took the Lady Demons to 14 OHSAA District Final games. He was named Ohio High School Girls Soccer Coach of the Year in 2017.
“Dane has a vision for the program of not only to continue what Scott Jones was able to accomplish but to hopefully take our team and program to the next level which is competing for state championships," Tony Cipollone, Westlake's director of athletics. "He has some great fresh ideas that I think will energize the program and he looks forward to working with our youth players to get them excited to become Demons. He has a grasp on what motivates high school athletes and knows what it takes to compete at the top level of the sport. We look forward to a new era in Lady Demon soccer with Dane in charge."
