Public Hearing Set for New Cell Phone Tower Plans
Westlake City Council will hear from residents one more time before making a final decision on Verizon's proposed cell phone tower.

City Council will hear comments from the public on Verizon’s proposed cell phone tower on the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church’s property before making a final decision.Â
The public hearing is set for Jan. 3, before the regular council meeting.Â
Council heard the second reading of the ordinance during Thursday night’s meeting. Planning commission decided to recommend the measure at its meeting on Monday.

The tower is needed to fix a gap in coverage in a portion of southwest Westlake, but residents have expressed concerns about the tower being so close to homes.Â
